I just finished my third day flying the Dream On. The more I fly it the more I enjoy it. Its' precision is excellent, its ability for slack line tricks is excellent too, a light touch is all it takes. Very smooth forward speed with out excessive pull, or jerkyness during gusts.

Right out of the bag this kite is great, no need to tweak a bunch of stuff before launching. Set up is quick and simple.

The only bridle adjustment I have made was to tie an overhand knot about one inch from the original inhaul stop knot (toward tow point) this increased the input sensitivity just enough more to really pop my eyes open. (for most people who don't get to fly as much as I do, there is no need to tie the extra knot.)

I still haven't made any adjustment for the basic pitch of the kite, and see no reason to. It really is the sweet spot. In fact, I think in my fifteen years of heavy flying, this is the first kite I haven't needed to make adjustments to right away. Either to suit my style or due to wind.

Perfect for a novice or expert, not that expensive (especially if you buy it from us) rods are cheap and easy to find if you break them, and man-o-man you gotta see this thing in the sky. Beautiful, and when spinning counter clockwise, the sail pattern looks like Walt Disney on acid. I almost fell over dizzy. The aysemmetrical sail graphics are wicked in flight.

Does this kite have or need weights? No but I did have a little trouble keeping the kite in a fade or doing Roll-ups. One nickel in the velcro at the base of the spine did the trick. I held a fade long enough to put my flight straps over my ears and do a hands free head fade for 5min (Bridle adjustment would have probably accomplished it as well) Even with the nickel the kite flew solid with no oversteer. I was in 8mph winds for most flying. The first time I flew it, I only had 3-6 mph winds and the kite was very nice in that as well.

How is fit and finish? Excellent a nice tight trim at the nose web. APA leading edge connectors, well glued c-clip stops, good bridle line, accurately tied. Nothing loose or sloppy anywhere, good solid standoffs that I don't think will ever fray, the killer new screw in standoff to sail connectors, simple and effective wingtip tensioners (shock cord on a traditional round end nock, snug but not impossible to pull) the sail is well stiched and neatly trimmed and whatever the cloth is, it has a beautiful shimmer when sunlight comes through it.

So I guess to recap:

Simple and durable for a novice- yes

Tricks and precision to please an expert - yes

Great windrange and a pleasure to fly - yes

Quality materials and workmanship - yes

Congradulations to Dodd- Best kite in years

Congrats to Skydog! Thank you for giving Dodd the quality and workmanship his designs derserve to perform at the top of the class.

I smiled and had a great snag free time with this kite and thats what flying is supposed to be.

To anyone who flies (no matter if your favorite kite is $40.00 or $400.00) the Dream On belongs in your kite stash, at the top of the pile. A lot of fun for anyone you might wish to share with.
